Kakabeka Falls Provincial ParkKakabeka Falls Provincial Park is the second highest waterfall in Ontario with year round access. The falls are 40 metres high and has a boardwalk that wraps around the top of the falls. Kakabeka Falls not only offers a beautiful view and nature trails in the summer but has groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter.
Kite FestivalThe annual Kite Festival takes place at Chippewa Park near the end of May and has been listed in “Top 50 Ontario Festivals” four years in a row. Along with kite workshops, demonstration and activities, fly with renowned experts from Kite Clubs all over Ontario.
Summer in the ParksSummer in the Parks has been held since 1904 and is an important part of the City’s Heritage. There is a variety of musical styles being showcased at Marina Park on Lake Superior. Also make sure you check out their children activities, free draws and market filled with concession and artisans.
Terry Fox MonumentThe Terry Fox statue was created for the inspirational one legged runner who began a cross-county run for cancer research- the Marathon of Hope. The Monument is not far from where he ended his run and has an amazing view of Lake Superior.
