Northeast Diagnostics Day

The Ontario Crops Research Centre - New Liskeard is coordinating a crops diagnostic day at the research station on July 17th 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The diagnostic day will feature OMAFA specialists: -Horst Bohner: evaluating effects of sulfur on soybean production -Ben Rosser: effects of planting depth and date on corn physiology -Joanna Follings - winter wheat production and learnings from the Great Lakes Yield Enhancement Network (YEN) program -Christine O'Reilly - sorghum allelopathy on subsequent small-seeded crops such as alfalfa, and sorghum as a forage -Megan Moran - how to identify clubroot and identifying herbicide carryover. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/new-liskeard-diagnostic-day-tickets-1348659981309

The Temiskaming Crop Coalition (TCC) is hosting their annual BBQ and Twilight Crop tour. Start the day at Koch Elevator with a BBQ dinner (Hwy 11, Earlton), followed by a crop tour 6:00 PM to dark.

Thunder Bay Crop Tour & LUARS Open House

Join the Lakehead University Agricultural Research Station and the Thunder Bay Soil & Crop Improvement Association for the annual open house and crop tour. The day begins at LUARS at 10:00 AM with a tour of the research station, followed by lunch, then an afternoon of field crop tours.

Manitoulin Ag Days

Join the Manitoulin - North Shore - Sudbury West Federation of Agriculture for their Summer Ag Day on July 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Palace Hillside Farm (253 Smeltzer's Rd, Tehkummah). Get your name tag and door prize number starting at 9:30 AM. Highlights: -View test plots (canola, soybeans, corn) field peas, no-till and minimal till plots, and a cover crop research trial. -Equipment viewing of Precision Ag and the Top Dry Grain Drying system -Lunch and educational talks from industry represntatives and specialists -Discussions on equipment, the top-dry grain drying system, and the Blue Jay stream restoration project.

URDAAT Field Day

The Unite de recherche et de developpement en agroalimentaire en abitibi-temiscamingue (URDAAT) is having a field day on July 30 at Laverlochere from 10-3. The day will feature their organic field crop trials, beef production trials, biodiversity in agriculture and agroforestry, soil profile evaluation and more.
