Description

The 2021 farm cash receipts for the district totalled $3.79 million, with $1,16 million in cattle & calves. And $1,07 million in floriculture, nursery and sod. 2021 average hay yield was 1.2 tons/acre.

Ag Overview

Based on the 2021 Census, the majority of the district’s 54 farms were in animal production. There has been a 25% decrease in the number of farming operations since 2016. The predominant field crop in the district is hay, with some oats and barley. The district doesn’t have many large farms but has many local, niche operations. Goat, sheep and other animal farming has doubled since 2016, while poultry production has decreased.
